Lightning protection design

Lightning protection (LPS) saves the building and electronics. GorkyCAD calculates: protection class by risk, air-termination geometry, number of down-conductors, earthing — per IEC 62305.

How it works

  • Set building dimensions and location risk;
  • GorkyCAD assigns protection class (I-IV);
  • Gets rod layout, down-conductors and earthing — ready to install.

FAQ

Is lightning protection required?
Per IEC 62305 — for buildings with risk above the acceptable level; in Russia also for buildings >30 m and public facilities.
How many down-conductors?
Usually 2 (for small houses) to 8+ — calculated by perimeter and class.
