Zones (701.30)

Zone 0 — inside the bath/shower tray; zone 1 — above the bath to 2.25 m; zone 2 — 0.6 m around zone 1 (and basins); zone 3 — 2.4 m around zone 2 (where defined).

Shock protection (701.40–701.45)

701.41 All bathroom circuits: 30 mA RCD (or SELV).

701.41.1 Zones 0–1: SELV only, IPX7 (zone 0) / IPX4 (zone 1).

701.415 Supplementary bonding of all exposed and extraneous parts.

Equipment (701.512–701.517)

701.512.2 IP: zone 0 — IPX7; zone 1 — IPX4; zone 2 — IPX4; zone 3 — IPX1.

701.512.3 Sockets: forbidden in zones 0–1; zone 2 — allowed ≥ 0.6 m from zone 1 on 30 mA RCD/SELV.

701.55 Luminaires class II or SELV in zone 1.
